Description
Though I would like to, I do not very often get a chance to photograph insects or other quick little critters up close - I lack the patience to sit quietly waiting for one to sit still long enough to pose. So when I happened to be out in my back yard yesterday and just happened to have my camera in hand when this guy stuck his head into a Cuban Buttercup, I barely took time to aim - just held the camera over the flower and snapped once. Would have snapped a couple more times, but he flew away just that fast. I am not really crazy about these fellows - I think bees are a lot cuter and more productive, and would really love to attract more butter- and dragonflies to my yard but, hey, I will take what I can get.
