Artist's Description

I painted this oil on canvas about 37 years ago, after being inspired by a similar work by a friend of mine, Rachel Carmichael, who also has recently joined FAA. I hope she sees and will comment on this ... do you remember this, Rach?

I was running low on paints when I worked on this. I had not intended to make the background green, but by the time I got to that part, I had only some yellow and a little bit of blue left, so that's how that went.

The painting did not originally have a cat (it still doesn't), but as I was processing the photograph for posting, I thought it a perfect opportunity to give the lady a kitty companion. She seems much happier.

THIS IS ONE of the few of my images that exist as an original (rather than only in cyber space, as 99% of my work), so I have kept the option open to sell it. I will fill in the dimensions eventually but, for now, let's say it is approximately 14x18 and that it is framed in a gold color aluminum (or some kind of...
