There are many definitions for Om from the simple to the sublime. Most simply, it is the Hindu symbol for the creation of the universe. Used as a mantra to aid meditation, the sound vibrates in one's nasal passages and helps to focus awareness. I like the Hindu symbol, written in the devengarii script, but there are many faces of Om to also be aware of. Here are a few, including Tamil, Tibetan, Balinese, Bangla, and Jain versions. Meditation can be a powerful spiritual practice to help overcome negativity in your life. I hope this will inspire you in your own meditations. Namaste.
