I have such lovely ideas, and I want to execute them by hand, in paint, or by digital in a painterly way, and I set to work with a beautiful image in my head and, I spend a significant amount of time and energy on it before stepping back and thinking ugh, that is nothing like what I wanted. So I pictured this young couple on vacation, holding hands at sunset and strolling through the romantic little wavelets of the incoming tide. The sky is vibrant with all the sunset colors, and the sand is warm from the day's sun. But seriously, folks, I can't draw worth crap and, as good as my intentions were, it turned out looking like a cartoon - drawn by an eight-year-old. If this had been on paper, I would have crumpled it up and thrown it away. On canvas, and I would have just put it away to paint over another day.
