Picture taken at the beach by the Gulf of Mexico in St. Petersburg, Florida, on a partially cloudy evening just a tad past sunset. The light on the water and on the wet sand looked magical, and the little lapping wavelets softly came ashore and slid away.
Standing at just this place, at the edge of the water, wherever I may be, gives me the most profound feeling of oneness with the universe. At the place where air and land and see meet, standing in sand that feels alive under my bare feet, with the frothy water, barely ankle deep, this tiny bit of earth, air, and water I am experiencing connects me, grounds me. The water around my toes is the same water that is beyond the horizon, is part of all the water in all the lakes and oceans of the planet, that rises in the atmosphere and comes back to us as rain, nourishing, all encompassing. To some people, a beach is just a beach, some place to cool off on a sunny day; to me it is so much more.

Ginny, this is so lovely! You can almost hear those soft waves lapping on the shores. That slight tinge of pink from the sunset adds such a wonderful shimmer to the water. Wish I was there to see this in person but at least I have your wonderful photo!
