Here is a somewhat panoramic shot of the St. Petersburg Pier in the distance, taken from the Vinoy area of the downtown waterfront park near dusk one evening. Sometimes I stitch shots together to create a horizontal layout, but this was a single shot with the zoom up, and I cropped off all the sky and foreground grass. I liked the composition of the result.
As far as landmarks are concerned, the "Million Dollar Pier" seen in the distance could soon be demolished and a new more modern structure erected in its place. The citizens, however, are up in arms - well maybe not arms, exactly, but they are united - to defeat the plans for the new pier. Whether they succeed or not, this particular view may become a thing of the past.
